A popular pub has closed its doors for a deep clean after a customer tested positive for coronavirus.
The Raven in Brinklow, near Rugby, which only opened about a month ago, closed with immediate effect yesterday (August 3) after receiving the news that a customer who was in the pub on Saturday (August 1) has Covid-19.
Staff are currently contacting customers who were in the pub at the same time as the infected punter, who was drinking at the venue from 4.30pm on Saturday.
All customers who visited from that date have also been urged to arrange a coronavirus test immediately.
The pub added it will be contacting everyone who signed in via their track and trace system to inform them.
It will reopen on Thursday, August 6, following a full deep clean of the Broad Street premises.
The statement shared on the pub’s Facebook page reads: “We have been alerted that a customer has tested positive for covid 19. To ensure that we comply with all of the recommended safety precautions to avoid any further spread of the virus, The Raven will be closed with immediate effect until Thursday, August 6.
“Following the public health guidance we advice (sic) that if you have visited the premises from Saturday, August 1, that you arrange a covid 19 test. We will be contacting everyone who has signed in on our track and trace system.
“We apologise for any inconvenience caused but our customer and staff safety is priority. During this time we will be undertaking a full deep clean of the premises to ensure we are able to re open.”
In a further post the pub shared a link to the Government website informing customers how they can book a coronavirus test.
